Salah OnBoard — Privacy Policy

Salah OnBoard is developed and maintained by Al-Maqdisi Productions LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Location Data

  • Purpose: We use your device's location to calculate accurate Islamic prayer times and Qibla direction.
  • Storage: Location data is processed locally on your device and is NOT stored on any servers.
  • Sharing: We do NOT share your location with any third parties.

Device Compass Data

  • Purpose: We use your device's compass to show you the direction to Mecca (Qibla).
  • Storage: Compass data is processed in real-time and is NOT stored.

Flight Information (Optional)

  • Purpose: When you enter flight details, we look up the flight's position to calculate prayer times.
  • Third-Party Service: Flight position data is retrieved from OpenSky Network. Only the flight callsign is sent — no personal information.

App Preferences

  • Your settings (calculation method, madhab, theme, etc.) are stored locally on your device only.

Anonymous Analytics

  • We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app.
  • What we collect: App opens, feature usage, general error types, user-submitted feedback content.
  • What we do NOT collect: Names, emails, precise location, advertising IDs.
  • Analytics provider: PostHog.
  • A random, non-identifying ID is generated — it cannot be linked to you personally.
  • Analytics are stored locally if offline and sent when you reconnect.

User Feedback (Optional)

  • When you voluntarily submit feedback through the app, we collect the feedback type (general, feature request, or bug report) and the text content you enter.
  • Purpose: To improve the app based on user suggestions.
  • No personal information is required in feedback. Feedback is sent to our analytics provider (PostHog).
  • Please do not include personal information in feedback text.

In-App Purchases (Optional)

  • We offer an optional way to support development.
  • Payments are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play Store.
  • We do NOT receive or store any payment information.
  • A local record of support level is stored on your device only.

Third-Party Services

Data Security

  • All data is processed locally on your device.
  • We do NOT maintain servers that store user information.
  • No account or login required.

Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.

Your Rights

  • Access your data (all data is on your device)
  • Delete your data (uninstall the app)
  • Opt out of location services via your device Settings

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
